Jonas Maximillian “Pops” Sota Speaking at Kyle’s Funeral

I just want to talk, directing this to Kyle’s family, not just blood family but what he felt. Over nine years he expressed to me his gratitude and his pride for his family. He was extremely proud of his two beautiful cousins. He would go around and be like, “Max, don’t I have HOT cousins?” He was proud of Jesse. He really admired him and was really happy that he was part of the family. He was always telling me how he couldn’t wait until Jesse and Erin had kids. He was proud of his aunt, the one from San Diego. He was always telling me how I had to meet her. Unfortunately, I didn’t spend to much time with her. He was proud of Sandi and Ron. Sandi was sweet and took us out to lunch a couple times. He was proud of Ron, just for being the jokester he was and always putting a smile on everyone’s face. He was proud of Jeremy for being able to beat him at chess, despite the age difference. He was proud of Gary and his whole family. He loved to take me there for dinner. He was proud of his mom, just for being a chill person. And I want to thank you—that back room that I spent countless nights with Kyle and friends really let us find ourselves and build an unforgettable relationship. He was proud of his father who he was most proud of for being humble and just being a great teacher. He was proud of Niko and Persis. He had a lot of trouble with expressing his love about that, but at times I’d catch him at. He was a softy. He didn’t like to admit, but he was a softy.
