Services on Sunday April 4, 2010
On Sunday April 4, 2010 over 500 people stopped their lives to mark the passing of Kyle, and to help his family move Kyle to his resting place. A funeral service led by Rabbi Jhos Singer, as beautiful as it was painful, was held at Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco. This was followed by Kyle's burial at Home of Peace Cemetery in Colma, where at least 150 people stood by Kyle's family in a torrential downpour. Even the heavens could not hold back. In the evening, hundreds squeezed into Kyle's house on Derby Street, overflowing out into the tent-covered front yard, to share memories and food that was lovingly prepared by dozens.
